All that is wrong in EMS in one paragraph
by
"A township ambulance service would be transferred to the police department and eight firefighter emergency medical technicians would be laid off under a plan considered by officials in Washington Township, NJ. The shift would replace firefighters who also serve as EMTs with contract EMTs. The township estimates that the change could save more than $250,000 in the first year because the contract EMTs would not get benefits or pay increases. Firefighters believe the new plan will lengthen response times and encourage EMTs to leave once they gain experience."
This is NOT a parody.
