by

The popular novel by Perry, "Population 485: Meeting Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time" has a sequel "Truck: A Love Story."

Sheboygan, Wisconsin Library Director Sharon Winkle said, "Michael Perry is a Wisconsin author whose works are centered on his experiences living in New Auburn, Wis., and serving his fellow residents as a volunteer EMT. Perry's insights into rural Wisconsin life have received critical acclaim. As stated in a Publisher's Weekly review of 'Population 485,' 'Perry understands that to truly live in a place you must first give your life to it.'

Perry also performs original music with his country/folk band, The Long Beds.

Perry will be playing and reading at the Mead Public Library event "Sheboygan Reads" on August 24th.
