The "Kick Method" for LOC checks
by

Heard the other day that a rather over zealous Paramedic decided he would assist with the extrication of a patient from an MVA.

Instead of using a more standard method of getting to his patient, he decided it would be quicker to kick out the window.

Well, in the process, he managed to kick his patient in the head with his steel-capped boots.

I guess that is one way to check if your patient is alert and responsive.

Not sure what injuries were involved (pre or post kicking) but the Ambulance service involved is no doubt trying to keep it pretty quiet.

Cheers,
BushMedic
