National Registry Exam Item Writers NEEDED!
by

We are seeking EMS professionals to participate in our Item Writing Committees. We need item writers at the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT (AEMT) and Paramedic levels.

To be eligible, you must currently be licensed at the level (or higher) for which you desire to participate. Once selected, item writers will be asked to draft and submit 20-30 multiple choice items (based on a list of tasks provided from the current NREMT Practice Analysis) prior to the meeting date. The committee will then meet at the NREMT offices in Columbus, Ohio, to review all items prepared by the committee. All reasonable and customary travel expenses for participating in the item writing process are covered by the National Registry.

At this time, we have scheduled the following committee meeting dates for 2008.

March 13-15, 2008 - EMT
April 10-12, 2008 - EMT
May 15-17, 2008 - Paramedic
June 19-21, 2008 - Paramedic
July 24-26, 2008 - EMR
August 7-9, 2008 - EMR
September 18-20, 2008 - AEMT
October 23-25, 2008 - AEMT
December 4-6, 2008 - AEMT

Interested participants should send their resume/CV and date preference (electronically or hardcopy) to:

Gabe Romero
National Registry of EMTs
Rocco V. Morando Building
6610 Busch Blvd., P.O. Box 29233
Columbus, OH 43229
gromero@nremt.org

It is vital that subject matter experts from the national EMS community are involved in the item writing process. Please note that many factors affect appointment to a committee, including assuring geographic diversity. Letters of interest imply no guarantee of appointment.

Thank you for your willingness to participate in the national EMS certification process.
