Personality Traits That Promote Positive Selection (EMS)
byBeverly J. Paschal, MA, MFT

I am writing my PhD dissertation on the personality traits of paramedics that are currently in the EMS field for 5+ years, as compared with former paramedics that quit EMS prior to 5 years of service.

I will be using an assessment tool called the 16PF Assessment. Participants will take the online assessment anonymously. They will be randomly assigned a login number, and asked to fill out a questionaire and take the test. The entire process will take about 45 minutes, and can be taken as time allows.

I am hoping to find a difference between the personality traits of people that stay in EMS and those that don't have the personality for it and quit to seek other employment. I think this will greatly promote hiring employees that are best suited for EMS.
