Hello EMS advocates, You may not be aware that the current Senate version of the capital bill sent to the house (SB221) has eliminated Code Blue matching funds and EMS communications that affect nearly every EMS service. Additionally, there may other capital DHSS projects in your community that are affected as well. The Senate has passed the capital budget, SB221, and it will soon be transmitted to be considered by the House. Only 3 of 17 DHSS items were included in the SB221. Attached [these attachments did not come through; we are searching for them] you will find a document that defines the human impact of not funding these projects. I am requesting your help to write, call, send emails, send POV messages to their representatives and senators in support of the projects requested, and ask that these items be added back in the Capital Budget (SB221) as the House considers the bill. For capital items, even though the Senate has passed the budget to the House, I’d suggest our supporters call anyone they know in the legislature. In addition, we may have operating budget items being considered by the conference committee (HB310), and we need people who can advocate for our program(s) For the operating budget, I would suggest you contact at least some conference committee members (Meyer, Chenault, Joule, Hoffman, Stedman and Dyson).
