Telemedicine via satellite – the way forward

13 July 2004 Telemedicine allows patients to be 'visited' in their own homes. A Canadian TeleCare pilot project uses satellites to provide targeted healthcare services in rural and remote areas of Canada. This pilot project is receiving funding from ESA. Credits: March Networks Corporation

The different medical readings come up on the screen in real time enabling the nurse to monitor the patient's health.
