I have been in EMS for appx. 12 years, 10 of which have been as an EMT. I have worked with 3 separate Volunteer departments, having been the "Director" of one and I am now the Medical Captain of a newly formed department Central Polk County Fire and Rescue in Missouri. I have been teaching EMS courses in various capacities for the past 5 years, first as an assisting Instructor for a First Responder class, and this year I completed teaching my 2nd EMT course. This does not make me a professional on the subject of Instruction, I think if anything it makes me "new" enough to remember how things "should" be done. I have also taught CPR for the past 10 years, and within the last 4.5 years of that I have taught over 4,000 students and over 300 classes as the lead instructor.
